On Abstract Photography and Being Different

For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt that I was different from the people around me. It wasn’t a negative feeling, it just was very clear to me that what other people enjoyed talking about and doing were often markedly dissimilar from my preferences.
I love abstract photography because it allows me to celebrate my individuality and create art that reflects who I am deep inside. I revel in being uncommon and doing my own thing and it’s important to me to challenge the status quo and forge my own path.
I’m so glad I took my sense that I was an outlier and used it to express myself. It has allowed me to follow my heart and live a marvelously authentic life. Best of all, I don’t have to conform to what others think I should do or be. What are your thoughts on being different?
